OUR METHOD

From greige material
to perfection in detail

Our working method stems from the conviction that quality is the result of a structured, shared, and monitored process.

For this reason, every step—from the acquisition of greige fabrics to their finishing and delivery of the final product—is carefully studied, calibrated to the type of material being processed, and constantly monitored.

This balance between efficiency and quality, between technology and creativity is the result of a shared corporate culture, derived from decades of experience and continuing to evolve over time.

SELECTION OF RAW MATERIALS

At the origin of quality

Everything begins with careful scouting and supplier evaluation: we seek partners capable of guaranteeing high standards and consistency in performance, favoring entities that share our commitment to quality and sustainability.

For our core articles, we prefer to maintain the same suppliers, with whom we have established proven collaborative relationships. For more niche articles, which change according to fashion trends, we rely on various more specialized and sector-specific suppliers.

The selection of greige fabrics takes place through a network of qualified suppliers, in Italy and abroad, evaluated based on quality, reliability, and consistency with project requirements. For luxury brands that desire it, Dragoni is also able to guarantee an entirely made in Italy supply chain.

Warehouse management

Our warehouse is organized to offer customers a service of prompt delivery and continuous replenishment of always-available articles, avoiding production lead times.

This consists of an extensive catalog of greige, ready-for-dyeing, and finished fabrics.

This is made possible through recurring purchases of greige materials and scheduled processing, which allow us to always have ready stock available.

processing operations

The stages of textile finishing

Processing operations include:

  • treatments to prepare greige fabrics for dyeing, removing impurities;
  • dyeing processes, with an extensive range of color cards and the creation of sample colors;
  • finishing, the final stage of textile finishing, which through mechanical, physical, and chemical treatments improves the appearance, tactile feel, and technical properties of fabrics.

In all three areas, the equipment and substances used meet our standards for quality, technological advancement, and environmental safety.

QUALITY CONTROL

From inspection tables to laboratory tests

Quality controls at Dragoni are rigorous: we analyze the fabric structure, weight, and general appearance, namely the absence of imperfections or defects.

This is where inspection tables come into play, machines that allow visual examination of fabric rolls, running them over an illuminated surface that enables the operator to identify any defects.

Once dyed and processed, the fabric first returns to the inspection table, where possible imperfections in dyeing and weaving are checked.

Then it is subjected to other tests. For example, its dimensional stability is verified after washing and drying. Its colorfastness to water at various temperatures is checked to ensure that the dyed fabric does not transfer dye to adjacent fabric, to hypochlorite especially for fabrics intended for workwear, to acidic perspiration and to alkaline perspiration.

Some products require specific tests, such as the Martindale abrasion test for moleskins, velvets, and brushed fabrics, which are subjected to prolonged rubbing to verify that they do not pill.

For outerwear fabrics that have undergone waterproof treatment, we apply the spray test to verify their water-repellent properties.
